Start things out by giving your website or blog visitors multiple opportunities to subscribe to your list. You have to have more than just a squeeze page, because you’ll need to have an opt-in box on your site as well. Try conducting a test and include more than one opt-in box per page. The best approach is to always give people a good reason to join your list because, as you know, they aren’t going to sign up just to help you out. The most straightforward approach is to give away a free report, e-book or a free gift in exchange for their name and e-mail address.

Some other solid ideas include entering your free product into a giveaway site. This is are win-win proposition all the way around. Giveaway sites offer a collection of freebies within your target niche and you make products available for download in exchange for an opt-in. Popular giveaway sites will generate lots of exposure. So look around for one of these in your niche, and you’ll be surprised at the response you get.

If you run a blog you can get people to sign up for your RSS feed. That way, people will get notified whenever you post a new article. Webmasters are hungry for new, original material and RSS feeds are quite effective. It doesn’t matter, though, if people are already on your main autoresponder list or not, your RSS feed will serve as a constant reminder. If your posts are interesting and highly targeted, then you’ll start making some great affiliate sales and see your site traffic grow.

Word-of-mouth works well as people refer others who might be interested in your newsletter. This only is effective, however, if your newsletter is highly informative and offers value. That’s the trick I know and easier said than done. Just keep working at it. Don’t give up and people will WANT to make referrals to your site.
